Italian Society

We are an inclusive group of Italians and non-Italians, promoting Italian culture on campus and raising awareness of issues concerning Italy and Europe. The society offers guest speakers and events, including our signature event, the Italian Symposium, a partnership with United Italian Societies with respected guests from the current Italian political, economic and social panorama. Our lectures touch on numerous aspects and issues facing Italy today. We have welcomed Former President Giorgio Napolitano and six Former Prime Ministers: Giuliano Amato, Massimo D’Alema, Romano Prodi, Enrico Letta, Paolo Gentiloni and Matteo Renzi. We organise numerous social events including Italian ‘aperitivi', Pizza Parties, and joint parties with the Italian Societies of other Universities.
