Call for Papers and Photographs for the Inaugural Issue of "Justitia Omnibus"
Justitia Omnibus (meaning 'justice for all') is a student-run journal established by the Amnesty International Society at the London School of Economics and Political Science Students' Union that publishes original academic work addressing contemporary issues and debates in the field of human rights.
For its inaugural issue, Justitia Omnibus welcomes articles and book reviews examining the topic of human rights and poverty. The broad topic of human rights and poverty aims to encourage submissions from a wide range of fields of study, including, but not limited to: economics, law, international relations, gender studies, peace studies, development, communication, and human rights studies. Undergraduate and post-graduate students are highly encouraged to submit work, as the journal will be largely composed of student submissions.
~ Papers ~
Submitted papers must be previously unpublished and of high-quality. Articles should be a maximum of 2,500 words with book reviews not exceeding 1,500 words in length. Papers should utilize the Harvard System of Referencing for citations and references, which are to be included in the aforementioned word count. All submissions will be reviewed by a student editorial committee. To guarantee anonymity, authors should include their names on the title page only and remove all other references to themselves in the paper. The editor will remove all names, including on title pages, before papers are reviewed by the editorial committee.
~ Photographs ~
The journal is also seeking original, high-quality photographs relating to the topic of human rights. One photograph will be selected for use on the cover, to be printed in color with the possibility of a second photograph being selected for the back cover. If space allows, additional photographs may also be printed within the journal; however, these photographs will be published in black and white and will not be printed in as high of a quality as the photograph(s) on the covers. Please submit a caption with the photograph.
All submission should be e-mailed as an attachment to the journal’s Editor at lsesu.aihrjournal@gmail.com. Please e-mail the Editor at this address if you experience any difficulties attaching your submission.
