The LSESU Italian Society is proud and excited to announce our first event of this academic year. We will be hosting Dr Stefano Siviero, the Bank of Italy’s representative on the European Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee for an event titled ‘Central banking for Turbulent Times: Perspective for Europe and Italy’.
Dr Siviero has also been publishing numerous scientific articles on macroeconomic modelling and monetary economics and has taught statistics, econometrics and international and monetary economics at various Italian and international universities.
The focus of the talk will be on how monetary policies can ensure stable economic development in times of trade war and slow growth. Dr Siviero will discuss the future and the perspectives of monetary policy in Europe under the new watch Christine Lagarde.
