We know it can be daunting coming to LSE from a working class background, but we’ve got loads of support in place for you. From a designated student representative to the Kickstart programme, we’ve got your back!
LSESU has seven Part-Time Officers who represent students at the highest level of the Students’ Union. The Class Liberation Officer is one of these! They are tasked with representing working class students in the SU’s Executive Committee, and will also often be a representative within university spaces. This means that working class students will always have a voice advocating on their behalf in these spaces. You can find out how to get in touch with this year’s Class Liberation Officer here.
We know that class is a difficult subject to navigate, and not everyone who the Class Liberation Officer represents will define themselves as working class. Here’s a few groups that the Class Liberation Officer represents:
First Generation students
Students who received free school meals
Care leavers
Students who attended a state school
Students who come from a low-income background
Estranged students
LSESU is proud to participate in LSE’s Navigate Programme for Contextual Offer Holders! We offer all Navigate students membership to our Kickstart programme, which entitles them to up to 6 free sports club and society memberships, free membership to LSESU gyms, and much more!
