The Assistant Bar Manager will be operationally focused, overseeing day-to-day operations of the bar. As such, an excellent knowledge of relevant products and keen understanding of emergent trends across the hospitality sector, especially amongst younger people is essential.
You will work closely with the wider team (the Social Manager, Bar Manager and Entertainment & Events Manager) and can let your creative side shine, ensuring the bar is able to offer a unique experience that complements a diverse, exciting, and unique programme of entertainment and events throughout the year.
The Assistant Bar Manager will also be responsible for duty managing a variety of events in the absence of the Bar Manager. These range from large scale club nights to small scale pop-ups. As such, experience in managing security teams and duty managing larger scale events is required. When acting as duty manager the Assistant Bar Manager will ensuring that all regulatory compliance is held to an exacting standard, guaranteeing a safe environment for everyone.
JOB PURPOSE
- To manage the day-to-day performance of bar facilities to increase usage and profitability
- To ensure results are delivered through exceptional customer service to the Union’s diverse membership and other users
- Manage bar team consisting of student staff, and supervision of external contractors
