Hello fellow students, colleagues, classmates, future leaders!
My name is Leila Mathy. I’m 25, Belgian, and I’m pursuing an MSc in International Social and Public Policy after 4 years of work in policy analysis in Brussels, Belgium. Before this, I completed a BA in Political Science and English at McGill University.
This is also, as an aside, my very first time running for student government.
My Vision
TLDR:
1. Let’s make student government participation (whether as an officer or constituent) more visible, attractive, and accessible. Even if you can’t (or don’t want to) campaign. Your ideas still matter.
2. Let’s invest in student support and services so students know where to turn and have ready access to helpful resources to assist them in housing, course choice, or financial issues. You should feel seen, heard, and supported.
3. I’m probably missing some areas of concern - I’m committed to hearing from you (hmu however you’d like: email, instagram, WhatsApp, LinkedIn!)
