EMMA BLOSS

For no more activities dilemmas!!

I am Emma, captain of the 2s netball team, and I am running to be your next Activities and Communities officer! I am extremely invested in the AU and societies and believe they are such a vital part of everyone’s university experience and would like to have the chance to make the SU even better.

This includes encouraging more postgrads to participate, developing women in sport leadership, and encouraging leadership positions across the university. I want to make this more accessible by creating an easier and faster system for reimbursements from the SU, and providing more funding for regular payments (like umpiring fees) so that students of all financial situations are able to run for all positions within a club or society. I also aim to secure a centralised sponsorship to create unified sports kit for all the clubs.

Finally, I want to create a safer environment across all societies, not just the AU, by working with Hands-Off to create a society wide consent-ed programme at the start of the year, and working with underrepresented people and groups to increase engagement.

I am super passionate about making the clubs and societies more accessible to everyone. Let me help YOU!
