VARUN SRIVATSAN

Your Voice on Board.

I’ve made four countries in three continents home - navigating being an immigrant, an international student and a young professional - journeys that similar to yours.

Like many of you, I’ve travelled far to come here to learn and grow. Encountering an intimidating environment, seeking support when you feel like you’re drowning, seeking new experiences beyond your discipline - I know what it feels like to be lost in an intense (but enriching) academic experience such as LSE.

I want to be your voice on the Academic Board, and will prioritize:

  1. Pastoral Care: I will advocate for better LSE and peer led health and academic supports - because without your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, academic success isn’t possible.
  2. Interdisciplinary Community: I want to push the Board to encourage learning across disciplines, including loosening regulations for registering for courses in different faculties and other University of London colleges
  3. Clear Communications: Making governance accessible means communicating with all of you. I will push for the Academic Board to hold regular town-halls to share updates with the LSE community. I also commit to an open-door policy and hope to meet you this year!

Thank you for considering me with your vote.
