You want change? Isabel knows Howe

Hi! My name is Isabel Howe and I am running to be Welfare and Liberation Officer

LSE presents welfare and liberation as your own responsibility. Students need community and guidance.

You want change? I know Howe

  1. Humanise welfare processes
  • Lobby to reform LSE report processes, especially for sexual assault and microaggressions

-> It is immoral to deter safety

  • Institutionalise part-time officer networks to involve students in important policy issues

-> Knowledge is leverage

  • Review the conduct of academic mentors and support staff

-> Support should reach out, sympathise and redirect

     2. Highlight attainment gaps

  • Develop comprehensive careers lectures with insider knowledge, targeting internships

-> Knowledge gaps perpetuate inequality

  • Lobby to hasten physical accessibility on campus and expand Adjustments

-> Academia should not be disabling

  • Lobby academic departments to record all lectures

-> Time is a privilege

     3. Harness the fundamentals of well-being

  • Lobby for outreaching well-being contacts in each academic department

-> Stress hinders learning

  • Work with the Disability and Mental Health Service to popularise well-being resources

-> Beneficial opportunities are underused

  • Work to provide students with rooms to take therapy/medical calls on campus

-> Health need not be inconvenient
