SAMUEL CRUTCHER

We’re all uniquely powerful, and powerfully unique

I created this position because I feel passionately about equalising the experiences of both neurotypical and neuroatypical students on campus. As best I can, I want to work for a vision of LSE that doesn’t discriminate based on arbitrary and irrelevant neurological functioning. Above all, this means raising awareness, informing LSE policy, and improving representation.

I will promote greater cognisance and tolerance of neurodiverse challenges through improving visibility and awareness of neurodiversity; my motion’s campaign revealed woeful ignorance of basic ‘neurodiversity-related’ terminology. I will create events within departments and the LSESU to popularise hitherto unnoticed struggles facing neurodivergents.

Discussions on campus must be taken with the interest of neurodivergents in mind; I appreciate the multifaceted manifestations of neuroatypical disadvantage, so I am keen to learn how, why, and when neurodivergent students may feel disadvantaged on campus.

I know that, as neurodivergent officer, I would demonstrate a strong commitment to the important goals of supporting the neurodiverse community on campus. For greater visibility, representation, and policy initiatives, please vote for me to mark an important milestone in the LSE neurodiversity movement.
