Graduate Gown Support Fund

The Graduate Gown Support Fund is now open

Graduation is an amazing occasion and can be one of the most joyful times of the year. But despite the jubilation, graduation can also be a stressful time full of obligatory expenses.

The Students’ Union exists to support LSE students throughout the whole of their journey, from Welcome Week to graduation. For that reason, we created the LSESU Graduation Gown Support Fund in association with LSE in 2019, and applications are now open for the December 2022 Graduation Ceremonies.

LSE graduation gowns are hired from Ede & Ravenscroft cost in the region of £50 to hire for the big day. No student should miss out because of not being able to afford the costs associated with hiring a gown.

The LSESU Graduation Gown Support Fund will cover the graduation gown hire fees for any student who cannot currently afford the costs. All you need to do is fill in an application form and submit it alongside your most recent bank statement.

The fund is open now and will close on Friday 28th October. It is administered by our Advice Team who are happy to answer any questions should you have them. Just contact them using the details below.

Our service is currently operating using a hybrid working pattern. We are still open and can be accessed by emailing su.advice@lse.ac.uk. You can also book a telephone or Zoom appointment with an adviser through Student Hub.
