Some stalls on campus are run by external organisations with no connection to LSESU. Parts of the campus are public rights of way, so these groups can set up there without permission from LSE or the Students' Union, and neither we nor the School can forbid them or force them to leave.
These stalls are sometimes designed to provoke. Many film students' reactions and post the footage online, where it can attract abuse in the comments. You don’t have to engage. Filming reactions is the point, and not engaging with their provocations denies them the content they came for.
We know they can be especially distressing for minoritised and international students. Students can access support through:
LSE Student Wellbeing Service
The LSESU Advice Service
Reporting If you experience or witness harassment, discrimination or hateful conduct, you can report it through LSE's Report and Support.
Event-specific support We can make arrangements for individual events, such as a support space, please contact su.welfareliberation@lse.ac.uk or @lsesu.welfarelib on Instagram.
