STANDARD MEMBERSHIPS
- Standard Memberships are what all LSE students can purchase to become members of any given Student Group.
- Members of Student Groups will elibigle to run and vote in Elections.
- Members will also be covered by LSESU insurance when taking part in that Student Group's activities.
- For Societies, the minimum membership charge is £1.
- For Sports Clubs, the minimum membership charge is £10.
NOTE
- NYU Students are counted as LSE Students for the purpose of memberships, so will be able to purchase a Standard one as normal.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIPS
- Associate Memberships allow non-LSE students (e.g. LSE Staff, Alumni, Other University Students) to become members of Student Groups.
- Student Groups wishing to offer Associate Memberships must apply via this form.
KEY POINTS
- Only 20% of your group's membership can be Associate Members.
- Associate Memberships need to be listed at a higher price than Standard Memberships.
- Associate Members are subject to the same Code of Conduct as Standard Members.
- Associate Members can't run for / hold elected positions within a Student Group.
- Associate members may not take part in representative sport if the competition host does not allow them to. Associate members may take part in representative sport if the governing body does allow it, and with approval from the Activities and Communities Officer. They will make this decision based on whether an LSE student would be denied an opportunity if a non-LSE student was to participate, and whether the participation of a non-LSE student would enhance the activity for LSE students.
