Committee Training Conference

The Committee Training Conference takes place at the end of summer term, and aims to give Student Group Committee members the necessary skills and information to allow a smooth start for their society at the beginning of Michaelmas term.

This year the conference is taking place from Monday 13th June - Friday 17th June 2022, and sessions will be hosted both in-person in the Venue, and via Zoom.

The sessions will build on the knowledge learned in our online courses, and support practical application to the role.

Conference Schedule

Each session will run in person and be repeated on Zoom, at different times of day, to be as accessible as possible. You will only be required to attend each relevant session once according to your availability.

These sessions are vital for your training and development as committee members. You must attend all compulsory sessions for your role and all online modules must be completed prior to the Conference.

Attendance of all sessions will be strictly monitored to ensure all appropriate committee members are in attendance. And failure to attend sessions or without letting us know via the form below, will be taken seriously.

However we understand that there may be a number of reasons or issues which prevent you from being able to attend some or all of your workshops over the week. Please let us know by completing the below form.

FAQs

How have you made the sessions accessible and how can I let you know I have accessibility needs?

We have designed the conference schedule so that each session takes place both in-person and on Zoom, and at different times of day, so that as many people as possible can attend. If you have any accessibility requests or needs, please email us on su.societies@lse.ac.uk and we will do our very best to accommodate where possible.

Will the content of these sessions be different to the online training modules?

I can't attend some or any of the compulsory workshops for my role. What should I do?

Do I have to go to the same workshop multiple times or on different days?

No. You only have to attend the courses that are outlined for your role once, either in-person or on Zoom

Can I attend some in-person sessions and some Zoom sessions?

Absolutely! Please feel free to tailor your training week to suit your availability and preferences.

I have feedback on a workshop or the conference, where can I submit it?

A feedback form will be circulated after the conference, and we'd appreciate any thoughts, comments or feedback on our training programme.

Will refreshments be provided?

Light refreshments will be provided for all in-person sessions. On Thursday 16th at 12pm, following the Managing Risk session, the LSESU catering team will be providing a free light lunch for attendees, which showcases catering options available to societies for events held in the SU.

I have a question about the training conference.

If you have any questions, please email su.societies@lse.ac.uk and our team will be happy to help.
