Beyond the Classroom Skills Session: Communication at Work
Beyond the Classroom Skills Session: Communication at Work
Tuesday 02 February 2016
6pm - 7:30pm
3rd Floor Meeting Room, Saw Swee Hock Student Centre
The conversations that we have with others can determine whether we succeed or fail at a task or job. Join us for this interactive session on communication skills.
You will experience having constructive conversations with others that will lead to a better understanding of how we communicate. In particular, the session will focus on:
· Accepting and blocking ideas
· Expressing interest in what others say
· Co-constructing conversations
· Storytelling
These themes will be explored in a hands on and practical manner using methods from Applied Improvisation, which uses improvisation theatre activities in a non-theatrical environment. The session is immersive, fun, and easily accessible, and no theatre experience or even the slightest interest in theatre is required. This workshop will not be about acting!
This session will be run by Angelina Castellini, a freelance improvisation coach and facilitator, and LSE alumna. You can find more information about Applied Improvisation at the following link:
