Business and Investment Group

Founded in 1996, the Business and Finance Group is the largest and most active student society on campus. We are currently sponsored by 20 industry giants spanning the investment banking, professional and financial services and legal sectors and we distribute timely career information on their behalf.

We are proud to be sponsored by Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi, Credit Suisse, HSBC, Nomura, Barclays, EY, PWC, Deloitte, Accenture, Oliver Wyman, Allen & Overy and GIC. We are partners with Glencore, Fitch learning, CIMA, Bloomberg Institute, KEA Consultants, Orbis, Grad Diary, Coaching Assembly, TeachFirst and Oxford Business Group.

Our aims are to educate our members about different branches of finance and professional and financial services and provide a comprehensive view of how these entities function, and we do so by developing progressive and strong partnerships with leading firms and facilitating the mutual transfer of expertise and knowledge amongst like-minded individuals. To that end, we organise an array of exciting year-round events including, lecture series, corporate presentations, panel discussions, finance seminars, CV and skills workshops, mock interviews, trading simulations, case studies, local and international conferences, and informal socials.

Our strong reputation is based upon our professionalism, dedication, innovation, and creativity. In addition to career-oriented events, we also provide a forum for balanced discussions and dialogue about financial and economic issues relevant today. Such issues include but are not limited to public finance, the hedge fund industry, the private equity industry, financial laws, environmental finance and microfinance.
