The International Development Society (Interdev) is a student-run society at the London School of Economics and Political Science Student Union, founded in 2012 and officially relaunched in 2018 by a group of passionate students interested in issues of development. We had 180 members in 2018/19 and won a Gold Star award. As of 10 October 2019, we already have 181 members.
We aim to foster a deeper and more critical understanding of international development amongst the LSE student body. Through
- speaker events,
- interactive workshops,
- networking evenings,
- panel discussions,
- pub quizzes
and other creative social events, we encourage our members to engage with professionals and academics in order to gain inspiration and spur positive change. In 2018/19, we organised 17 events. Partners included the International Monetary Fund, the UN World Food Programme, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
InterDev is open to both undergraduates and postgraduates from any academic background. We also offer opportunities for LSE alumni to get involved in our work. The energy, ideas and innovation of our members is vital to us and our mission.
