Clubs

Introduction

As one of LSE’s youngest sports societies, LSE Canoe Club offers a diverse programme of events from our regular Canoe Polo training to our Open Paddle sessions – a great alternative for LSE students who want the participation with less commitment. We are a growing club with a personalised approach where every member can have a say.

Open to all abilities, we fund BCU training for all of our members. We have indoor pool sessions so that members can practice more technical skills like rolling. We run the occasional session to Lee Valley for whitewater kayaking, with plans to expand on this in the future, including a larger variety of paddlesport, like surf kayaking.

We ran our first trip to Croatia over the summer. Our newly appointed Trips Secretary will be working on both short weekend and longer trips throughout the year.

Our Canoe Polo team trains every Sunday in Hendon with professional coaches. This training is open to all and anyone can join in.

As for our social side, we regularly organise canoe-themed events, like our annual “We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat” pub crawl, and take part in all AU socials, including the weekly ZOO night out on a Wednesday.

Whether you’re new to paddlesport or a keen kayaker, get in touch to find out more about what we can offer you!
