The Venture Capital Society aims to promote the understanding of trends within the sector and to help members develop the skills and network required to succeed as a Venture Capitalist

About us

The LSE Venture Capital Society is the only society at the LSE and in London which focuses solely on Venture Capital; providing funding to start-up companies in exchange for equity, in order to develop the start-up and make it a worldwide success!

Our main goal is to help our members develop an understanding of trends in Venture Capital, and to develop the skills required to be successful Venture Capitalists! The VC society will deliver:

  1. A VC training Series and Case study walk throughs with VC professionals
  2. Talks and Panel events featuring venture capital industry experts as well as angel investors
  3. A NEW, FLAGISH Venture Capital Due Diligence Competition 
  4. Skill building sessions and workshops, with access to further material
  5. Cutting edge research on the industry, delivered through newsletters and reports
  6. Networking events, to meet like-minded students and VC experts

So, why should you join us? It is the perfect opportunity to meet like minded people, whether its aspiring venture capitalists or aspiring entrepreneurs, and to learn all the ins and outs of the venture capital world from industry professionals. We are currently in the process of building a learning series to be delivered from venture capitalists, and plan to build on the society's successful track record to invite even more influential speakers with greater frequency. Membership

Our society has a single membership option. Purchasing the membership to our society will give you access to all of our events throughout the year, including VC training sessions, VC Speaker series events, some of which will be members only, as well as our socials.

Purchasing a membership will also give you access to our weekly newsletter containing cutting edge VC related research produced by our excellent Research team. Your membership will go towards funding our activities throughout the year including catered events as well as socials to name a few.

As a member, you will also get the opportunity to meet like minded, dedicated individuals with which you could forge valuable relationships.

Events and Activities

  • Regular VC Training Series Events - we are currently in the process of creating a dedicated VC training series which will run throughout the year tackling topics like VC Investment Selection Criteria as well as VC Portfolio Diversification to name a few.
  • Catered and non-catered Monthly Speaker Series Events with Senior Venture Capitalists - guided Q&A events, with opportunity to network at the end.
  • A NEW, FLAGISH Venture Capital Due Diligence Competition 
  • Regular collaboration events with other LSESU Societies
  • Regular Socials in dedicated venues (COVID dependant)
