Circular Economy

We believe that to make the world more sustainable, a transition to a circular economic (CE) model is necessary. If you’re interested in the CE and would like to learn more about it, come join us!

From Linear To Circular | To A Brighter Tomorrow

About us:

Welcome to the LSESU Circular Economy Society! Established in 2020, we proudly stand as London's inaugural Circular Economy Society.

According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, a huge promoter of this concept, “a circular economy is a systemic approach to economic development designed to benefit businesses, society, and the environment. In contrast to the 'take-make-waste' linear model, a circular economy is regenerative by design and aims to gradually decouple growth from the consumption of finite resources.”

We, the Circular Economy Society at LSE, believe that in order to make the world more sustainable, a transition to a circular economic model is necessary.

Events and activities:

We're committed to raising awareness and driving action towards a circular economy through a diverse range of events and activities. Our event plan includes:

  • Entrepreneurship Panel: We organize panels where industry experts and entrepreneurs delve into the realms of circular economy entrepreneurship across sectors such as Fashion, Food, Plastic, Energy, and Water. This provides invaluable insights and inspiration for budding changemakers.

  • Case Study Workshop: Our case study workshops offer an opportunity to explore real-world instances of circular economy implementation across diverse industries. Collaborating with successful companies and organizations, we unveil the transformative potential of circular economy principles.

  • Careers in CE Networking: Through networking events, we bridge the gap between students and professionals in the circular economy field. Connecting students with sustainable job prospects and circular economy alumni, we facilitate valuable exchanges of knowledge and experience.

  • Fundraising & Volunteer Initiatives: Our society is dedicated to supporting circular economy-related research centers and charities through fundraising events and volunteer activities. By partnering with local organizations aligned with circular economy goals, we channel our efforts towards meaningful impact.

  • Sustainable Consulting: Engaging students in identifying shifts in consumer attitudes and circular economy business prospects, our sustainable consulting projects collaborate with local businesses. We analyze their operations and propose circular economy solutions to drive positive change.
