About us

LSE Volleyball is open to ALL LSE students, regardless of their volleyball background.

We offer a range of opportunities for our members including competitive play, casual play and socialising.

Here is the place to meet new people, have fun and enjoy the sport!

Competitions

Our Men's team competes in the BUCS South Eastern Tier 1, and our Women's team competes in the BUCS South Eastern Tier 2.

***According to the latest announcement from BUCS, due to COVID-19, all competitive fixtures will take place between January and April 2021 i.e during LT: https://www.bucs.org.uk/sports-page/volleyball.html ***

Trainings

Normally each team would have 1 training session and 1 gym/outdoor workout session per week.

Women's trainings: Saturdays 7pm-9pm at Somers Town Community Sports Centre, Court 1

Men's trainings: Saturdays 7pm-9pm at Somers Town Community Sports Centre, Court 2

However, this year is not a normal year. According to the latest announcement from the UK Govt, from Thursday, 24th September, organised indoor sport for over 18s will no longer be exempt from the Government’s rule of six: https://www.volleyballengland.org/news/article/6149/what-the-new-indoor-sport

For everyone's safety, our tryouts and normal trainings will be postponed for now but the committee is working closely to organise various activities, such as volleyball specific trainings in small groups, until we can get back on the court and train as a team again!

In-Person & Virtual Socials

Throughout the year we will be organising various social events, for the whole club, both in person and virtual. These will include team picnics, game nights, online drinking games, watching professional volleyball leagues online, team runs, outdoor workout sessions and many more.

Later this year we are also hoping to hold several charity tournaments, go on tour in LT (destination TBC), compete in 2021 Varsity competitions, participate in Les Parisiennes 2021 tournament organised by Sciences Po university and enter teams into the BUCS beach volleyball league in Summer term.
