Throughout the workshop, Amy will introduce us to the Embroidery 101: how fabric works, why things tear, fixing tears and the 'theory' behind strong mending, and will also give a workshop on simple floral embroidery. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and try things out, however, following along is not mandatory - you can also just join the workshop to learn and try things out at a later point

List of what you might need during the workshop (You can find all of these items already included in 'embroidery kits', which may be cheaper to buy than buying all of these items separately):

• an embroidery hoop (recommended size: 7-8 inches)

• 5-10 colours of embroidery thread that you like

• embroidery needle

• an old t shirt, scarf, or item you want to decorate

• scissors

Our workshop host: Amy Leete from the Slow Fashion Movement UK
Amy is an embroiderer who loves to create both visible and invisible mends, as well as embroidery artwork. As a proponent of a circular economy, she loves to find ways to make, mend, and exchange her embroidery in a low-waste lifestyle

This event is part of the #CEweekLDN - we are very excited to be part of this week filled with events around the circular economy!
