The Graduate Teaching Assistant Representative will work to materially improve the working conditions of GTAs at the LSE. They will receive support from the SU to achieve their objectives, and have access to a small budget.
Key Responsibilities

Represent all Graduate Teaching Assistants at the LSE

Campaign on issues affecting GTAs and directing the Student Union’s work to improve the GTA experience

This could include bigger projects such as lobbying with LSE key stakeholders for more inclusive policies and anti-racist actions, or smaller initiatives such as collaborating with relevant clubs, societies and campaigns on events and collaborations

Attend 121s with relevant LSESU staff once a month, and remain in regular contact through email/phone between meetings

Organise events for your constituency throughout the year

Work alongside the Postgraduate Research Students' Officer

Attend Executive meetings and termly Town Halls, or send official apologies if this is not possible

The Executive Committee is made up of the elected Full-Time and Part-Time Officers of the Students' Union. The Executive Committee meet several times each term to discuss the political direction of the Union, ongoing campaigns, and to report on their work.
