NUS Delegate

Be the voice of LSE students at the National Unions of Students' National Conference!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The LSESU is an affiliated member of the National Union of Students (NUS), an organisation with over seven million members all working to improve the experience of students in the UK! LSESU is entitled to send 4 delegates to the NUS National Conference. This year's NUS National Conference will be held Wednesday 17th - Thursday 18th April.

NUS National Conference Delegates play a huge role in deciding the direction of the NUS for the next year. You’ll have the opportunity to debate issues that matter to you, submit motions for change and ensure the views of LSE students are heard loud and clear.

This is also a great opportunity to meet fellow students passionate about making a difference in the Higher Education sector, providing delegates with a key networking opportunity.

If you are elected, you will be expected to:

  • Prepare for the conference by consulting with students on the issues they care about and potentially submit motions for debate.
  • Vote for the various student representatives elected at conference and the motions submitted for debate.
  • Feed back to students on what happened at the National Conference.

Note: Due to NUS' Fair Representation rules, at least 50% of our 4-person delegation must define as women. As our ex-officio delegate place is taken by a man, at least two of the three positions being elected must be taken by a woman.
