SARAH: MS.INTERNATIONAL WHO IS ZA-MAN FOR THE JOB! [Not Pitbull]

Being an international student who has lived all over the globe- Toronto, Dubai and now London, I have been exposed to multiculturalism and its beauty. My goal is to celebrate the diversity and multiculturalism at LSE, ensuring that international students settle in easier and feel included in the LSE community. Plans:

1) TO CREATE EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION LINES: To have each nationality/cultural society create an officer position that will represent the society in a monthly meeting where they can issue any concerns/complaints, submit requests/recommendations for LSE promotion/support of different festivals/events etc. International students will also be able to attend this meeting.

2) FOOD FESTIVAL: Plan a food festival that will compose of country booths sharing their national food, celebrating cultural and food diversity.

3) SPEED-MATING: Organise ‘speed-mating’ events, where people can meet other people in a relaxed environment. I have experienced how dificult it can be to meet people outside your halls or course. This can be an issue for international students who may know only a very limited number of people in London and hence university can become an isolating experience. Let’s change that!
