MOHSINA CHOUDHURY

Let me be your woman (officer)

What I could do for you

Prioritise intersectionality

  • Plan events for underrepresented communities of women
  • Arrange talks to promote intersectional awareness

As a Sociology student it is significant for me to bring an intersectional approach to addressing women's challenges on campus. I would hope to create particular platforms and make support sessions where women can build female relationships geared towards these underrepresented communities.

Comfort and wellbeing of women:

  • Making a formal guide of resources for assistance available to all pupils.
  •  Establishing secure spaces for women and non-binary students to relax.

I have experienced speaking up for a community at the LSE that is predominately made up of women as an academic representative for my own department. I have seen how one's external stressors can hinder academic success. I want a VISIBLE female counsellor. Did you know the LSE has a sexual harassment support advisor? This is something every student should have immediate guidance on.

'Period Poverty'

  • To have female sanitary products available at all times on campus

I want to be the person you can turn to me to speak for these necessities. I want to be the person that informs the university administration on what our female students want and need.
