Make the Union Work for Postgrads
My offer: A track record at LSE, proven commitment, and the right policies.
I am an MSc PP&A student from Uruguay, and LSE Alum. Last year, the Students Union gave me an Honours award citing “services to student voice, cross-campus communication and public accountability”. It said: “Morgan has helped shape a better LSE experience for students, particularly during times where students have needed a voice”
I promise to bring this same commitment to reach these goals:
Make the Union work for postgrads
- Help societies and AU clubs improve postgrad inclusion, also expanding operations into summer, when postgrads are still on campus;
- Increase student membership in LSE decision making bodies.
Improve course choice and academic mentoring
- Work on a full overhaul, including pre-enrolment course choice and a mentor selection portal;
Fairness Despite Covid
- Keep refunds, assessment extension, and deferral on the table;
- Demand that LSE keep and expand assessment flexibilities brought in on 2019/20.
- Lobby for more support for digital learning (inc. financial support for digital learning, and disability accommodations).
Lobby for Structural Change
- Increase support for existing social justice campaigns;
- Push for assessment diversification;
- Mandatory pastoral care professionals in every department;
- Full time sexual violence advisors/liasons.
