Towards an ethical LSE for students!

Hi everyone!

My name is Ellie, you may know me from being the current Environment & Ethics Officer at the LSE Students' Union as well as from being an SSLC representative for the past 2 years. Within my SU role I am passionate about environmental/social issues and work closely with LSE management and operations, but I've recognised the key decisions are made in the LSE Council. Being elected would allow me to directly influence LSE's governance by instigating change and representing students' interests at the highest level. Using the position on council, I will call upon LSE to:

  • Fully divest from fossil fuels and armaments by changing the Socially Responsible Investment policy
  • Put student's financial situations and social wellbeing at the forefront of educational decisions during COVID-19
  • Shape its decisions/operations with enviornmental and ethical considerations as a priority
  • Take its role in the ecological crisis seriously and urgently.
